What Conditions Do You Need to Meet for an R1 Certificate?

The R1 authorization certificate differs from the R2 certificate in its usage. Companies wishing to apply for the R1 certificate are expected to meet various conditions. One of these is capital. If you are going to apply for an R1 certificate as a company, you must have a capital value updated by year. 💷💱💲

Likewise, those who want to have this certificate must have branch offices suitable for all activities specified under the law. In addition, the right to use independent immovable properties must belong to the person wishing to obtain the R1 certificate. The same conditions apply to the R2 certificate as well.

What are the Conditions for Obtaining an R1 Certificate?

What are the Obligations of R1 Authorization Certificate Holders?

R1 authorization certificate holders have certain obligations. Among the basic obligations of those responsible for cargo transportation is to determine a suitable transport and delivery time between the pick-up point and the delivery point.

• Persons holding this certificate cannot enter into any agreement or sign contracts with C1 and K2 Authorization Certificate holders.

• Persons applying to hold an R1 authorization certificate must have the specified amount of capital value according to the relevant year. Furthermore, the working capital or the right to use the independent office must belong to the relevant person.

• The person wishing to obtain an R1 authorization certificate and applying to the relevant ministry for this purpose must notify the ministry of any short title to be used during their activities, along with emblems, logos, and similar marks, if any.

What is the Price of the R1 Authorization Certificate?

R1 certificate prices are renewed at the beginning of each year. At this point, it is important for companies to regularly check the current rates for that year for R1 authorization certificate applications. For the year 2023, it is possible to say that the fee companies applying for this certificate must pay before receiving it is 185,595 TL.

In any case, you should check the current prices before applying for an R1 certificate. This makes it possible to proceed more smoothly with applications. In addition, if the currently used R2 certificate has expired, this certificate must also be renewed. However, when paying the renewal fee, paying 5% instead of the full certificate fee is sufficient.

How Often is the R1 Certificate Renewed?

The duration of use for the R1 authorization certificate after completion is determined as 5 years. Within the mentioned 5 years, there is no need for any person or institution to make an additional payment to use the R1 certificate.

However, at the end of this 5-year period, the company must renew the certificate and pay the current fee. In the R1 certificate renewal process, there is also the requirement to submit the same documents to the relevant department of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.
